LabVIEW NXG 2.0

Hello,

I just instaled LabVIEW NXG on my Win10 PC. But everytme I tried to opened it, it always crashes after saying that it loaded the its coherentUI component. Is there any fix here?

I browsed the error log and it says:

Internal error from LabVIEW NXG
Message:

Error message:
Could not load type 'NationalInstruments.Core.VoidActivityAwaiter' from assembly 'NationalInstruments.PlatformFramework, Version=5.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=2eaa5af0834e221d'.
Exception:
TypeLoadException
Suggestion:
Contact National Instruments to report this error

Any suggestions can be helpful. Thanks.

Did this crash start happening immediately after a fresh install of NXG 2.0? Like, you were never able to open it? Did you install 2.0 with NXG 1.0 installed?

At what point does it crash? Do you see the splash screen?

One thing you could try is to uninstall/reinstall, if you haven't tried that already.

Yes, it was after intallation (first run). I installed it with NXG beta 2.0 installed. I can see the splashscreen load until coherent UI. I wasn't able to re-install it because I can only download large files during off days (weekends).

I'd suspect an assembly cache. There are multiple...

This one for instance:

C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\National Instruments\LabVIEW NXG 2.0\PluginCache

You should be able to just delete it's content.

Hi

It is also crashing for me at the coherent UI. I have uninstalled and reinstalled NXG. Also i have deleted the PluginCache content. But still i have the same problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks and Regards

Do either of you have TestStand or the Vision Development Module for LabVIEW NXG beta? At this point, you may consider uninstalling all NXG products, making sure that the Program Files folder is empty, and then try reinstalling.

Same problem here.
NI support said me that it is a known issue for users that installed version 2.0 stable over the beta version.

Here all the steps i followed without solving.

- Uninstalled all NXG software using MSI blast provided by NI.

- check in NI Package Manager, NXG was still there so uninstalled all NXG software form package manager.

- reinstall NXG form an NI provided ISO

Now NXG starts and:

- show me licence window (allocated RAM 230mB)

- I proceed choosing Launch

- Main window with 3 choices (Launch a project, use your hardware, learn to program) appear. (allocated ram 593Mb!!)
- I choose Launch a program and start a new VI project

- It start loading its component and after a few, it crash (allocated memory 900Mb and more!!!)
(The first time it did not crash but went in idle state with 750Mb ram allocated)
It seems a bad memory management somewhere...
The forum doesn't allow me to upload the Crash report

I had the following to successfully install LabVIEW NXG 2.0

  • Remove all the LabVIEW and LabVIEW NXG softwares
  • Delete the National Instruments folder from the Program Files directory
  • Delete the National Instruments folder from the Program Data directory
  • Delete the National Instruments folder from C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local
  • Remove NI Package Manager.
  • Cleared the missing references from the registry(using CC Cleaner).
  • Install NI Package Manager.
  • Install LabVIEW NXG 2.0

Besides the one I`m replying to, you don't seem to have a post in this thread.

Did you mixed up this (LabVIEW-NXG-2-1-Beta-Installation-Guides) thread?
