LabVIEW 7 trouble

When I use LabVIEW 7 and click on a saved library (.llb) of files it takes
ages to open and sometimes hangs the computer. If I open LabVIEW and then
point to the file and open it there is no problem. I have re-installed
LabVIEW and the problem persists. I use WXP (not service pack II!).

Any ideas.

Tom

Hello Tom,

maybe you should install service pack 2 (not because of Labview...)?

I think, there's a problem with the explorer extension of labview. Even when it's working it can take ages to open a llb. So I never use this feature and switch it of in the options of Labview. Do you really need it?

GerdW

Hi,

My guess is it has something to do with the "Enable windows Explorer for LLB
files (takes effect on computer restart)" option, in the options>New and
Chagned in 7.x menu.

Perhaps switching it around (and restarting) a few times helps...

Regards,

Wiebe.

DO NOT install service pack 2 for XP. It is poisonous to computers. How Microsoft has the nerve to put out this garbage, I'll never know. Besides that, I have never had problems opening up llb files, never any crashes. Something must be wrong with your XP installation.

Ive had the same basic problem in Win2K computer
Lost many VI's involvoing LLB and Windows explorer corrupting the LV soure files and I did not have the savy to know how to recover them in time.

Id stay away from LLBs and Explorer option in LV7. I do not think the LV 7 can handle problems with Windows.
Using LLBs works fine in LV7 in my experience but not when Microsoft gets involved in the process.
