Lab View For Embedded XP

I'm trying to install LABView 6.1 on a XP embedded PC Tablet being used for serial data logging. When i try to install the software it keeps asking me for the LABView Disk even though it is already in the drive. Is LABView 6.1 compatable with Windows XP embedded?if not, is there a way around it to make it work by using additional drivers

Hi biring,

The current version of LabVIEW (7.1) and all previous versions do NOT support any versions of Windows Embedded including Windows XP Embedded. This does not mean that it definitely will not work, but it has not been tested by National Instruments. You might be able to find other users that have successfully made a LabVIEW application work on a Windows XP Embedded machine.

Here's a list of what is officially supported by LabVIEW 7.1 and 6.1:

• LabVIEW 7.1 officially supports the following Operating Systems:
• Windows XP/2000/NT 4.0 sp6
• Mac OS X 10.2 or higher
• Solaris 7 or later
• Linux Kernel 2.0.x/2.2.x/2.4.x
• Note: LabVIEW 7.1 does not support Windows ME/98/95 or Mac OS 9.

• LabVIEW 6.1 officially supports the following Operating Systems:
• Windows XP, 2000, ME, NT, 98, 95
• Mac OS 9.x
• Sun Solaris 2.x
• Linux x86

I am attempting to use LV7 on XP embedded pro. It seems to be corrupting the Labview subvi file paths occasionally, but apart from that works ok. Mine is a large application (1000 vi's), so you may have better luck with a smaller app.

My problem is that I’m using a Toshiba PC table with embedded Windows XP and it does not even allow me to install LAB View. It keeps asking for the CD even though it is in the drive.

Try copying the cd to the hard drive and running it from there.

Can't do that, the Toshiba PC Tablet embedded system only has 1024MB of available memory, the OS is burned onto a chip on the mother board. It does not even have a drive - you have to use a external USB drive to load software.
