Dan,
I tried the Open G GOOP Toolkit and I was quite impressed with it. It gives a little more help with handling processes than the Endevo GOOP Toolkit. However, it seemed to me it would be difficult to build and distribute applications with a combination of the Open Source code and proprietary code that must be protected. Some on Info-LabVIEW commented that I should look into the OpenG Package Distribution tools. But, I decided to purchase the Endevo GOOP Inheritance Toolkit. It is sold in the U.S.A. by VI Engineering. It includes the previous GOOP capabilities and also supports inheritance. I am about 75% through a large project with it and I am very happy with it. There were some problems cloning classes when using LabVIEW 7, but a new vers
ion will be available in a few days that should eliminate those problems. Using GOOP you end up with more total VI's, but the organization and ease of modification are plusses. The GOOP Wizard included with the Endevo toolkit saves a lot of time because it eases icon creation and VI documentation, and it provides a very organized way to look at classes you have created.
