LCD I2C myrio initializing code

Hi!! 

I'm trying to control a 16x2 lcd display with myrio and I2c protocol. I have used the "NI myRIO: "LCD (I2C) demo" LabVIEW project" video's initializing code but doesn't work, nothing appears on the screen . I want to know how we know what is the correct initializing code. Please, if you could help me, it would be very helpful! Thank you.

Did you ever figure out how to use the LCD display with MyRio?  I am getting the exact same behavior and it is driving me nuts.
