Issue installing LabView 2019 64-bit

Solved!
Go to solution

I have installed and uninstalled this about 5-6 times today!! When I choose to install the labView 2019 64-bit through the NIPM It will install fine. When I go and run the 64-bit version nothing happens. There is an icon but when I double click it nothing happens. When I go to C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\National Instrumnets\2019 I can see another Labveiw.exe file. When I double click that I can open labview in 32-bit mode. I need the 64-bit version which I installed not sure why the 32-bit is there.

I changed the registry editor so that the 64-bit version will be installed on another location other than the C:\.

Also, the 32-bit version didn't have DAQmx that how this whole thing started I need that tool, and now I can't even use LabView at all!!

Can someone please help me. I need this so that I can do a work project.

See my reply to your second Post.  I tried to send you a Private Message offering to help, but your Profile didn't have that option turned on.  I'll check back tomorrow morning to see if you've seen my posts.

I don't know how to enable private messages. I looked all through my settings. You know sometimes I just HATE electronics!!!

Take a look at the image below, start with your user name in the upper right.

I see that you are a New Member, just registered today.  It is possible that new memories don't have full access to everything.  It can help prevent things like spamming.

Give it a day or two when you are just listed as "Member", and see if the option will show up then.  Maybe it takes more time or messages on the forum than that.  If you don't see the ability in a day or two, do a Notify Moderator on the message thread and ask about it.

I know one thing that sometimes happens is someone new will go and harass a number of members through private messaging begging for help directly.  But I haven't seen that happen in a while.  So maybe the messaging feature was turned off for New Members because of that problem.

Are any of your colleagues members of the LabVIEW Forum?  If so, have one of them send me a PM with a way to contact you, such as an e-mail address or a cell phone number (assuming you are in North America).  Or, as RavensFan suggests, wait a day or two until you are a "member" and can turn on PMs yourself.  Sorry, didn't know about this "feature" ...

new "memories"?  What was I typing?  !!  Of course I meant "new members".  Apparently it is a restriction that new members can't send private messages.  But I think your status upgraded to "member" after only waiting 24 hours.

Thank you Ravens Fan.

I did check a little bit ago and I now can send private messages. Sent one to Bob. Thank you again.

... and we have liftoff!  Heath now has a repaired PC with LabVIEW 2019 (32-bit) with DAQmx and VISA.  After reviewing his requirements, I recommended installing 32-bit LabVIEW (rather than 64-bit, as he didn't need the 64-bit addressing space for data).  Took about 5 hours ...
