Is there a good LV web server tutorial available?

This is my first attempt at trying to get the LV 8.5 web server working.

In the end we want to be able to monitor and control a test running at a remote location through the internet.

I currently have my development station and another computer here on our LAN.

The help files seem to imply that you just check the box to enable the web server and bang you are running applications over the net.

I know there has to be more to it as the web server is running but I can not get anything besides a 404 error when trying to connect to it.

Someone has to have written a good step by step tutorial on how to do this.

NI has an example of this located at:
http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/1306

Also this link has some good information in it.

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/7F95D43D3F50FCAC8625710E000068E1

While it may initially seem complicated it is really a breeze to set up and can be done in a matter of minutes.
Good Luck,

Thanks, that had the information I was looking for.

Makes me wonder why the help files do not contain these important steps:

Build the web page for your VI

  • From your front panel VI, select Tools » Web Publishing Tool.
  • Configure the Viewing Mode to behave as you would like (press the help button for an explanation of each option). Press Next.
  • Create a document title and press Next.
  • Save the HTML document in your [LabVIEW]\www directory. Press Save to Disk. Be sure to take note of the URL. The web page to be displayed is now complete and saved on your hard drive.

Whats worse is I spent two hours on the phone with NI tech. support and these steps were never mentiond either.

Glad it worked out for you.  Those are the two links I had saved back when I was trying to figure it out.  Pretty quick and simple once you get through that first time.
