Hi,

If you installed LV, I think the runtime is also installed. If you haven't
installed LV, no function will work unless the runtime is installed.

Regards,

Wiebe.

Hi,
There is no specific function in LabVIEW that would give you the version of the Run-Time engines installed. The RTE installs, by default in C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\LabVIEW Run-Time\ directory. You can use the FileI/O functions to liste the subfolders of this directory. So, if you have, for example, RTE 6.1 and 7.0 installed in their default directory, you would programmatically determine that you have these two folders. However, you might have installed the RTE's in a different folder, or after uninstallation of an RTE, the actual folder has not been removed for some reason. In this case, detecting the presence of the folders would not automaticaly mean that you have the RTE installed.
You might then want to check for the registry
keys that correcpond to the LV RTE. Those kyes are under
HKEY_Local_Machine\SOFTWARE\National Instruments\LabVIEW Run-Time\
I've created a simple example that would search for these keys.
