Is DAQmx driver support depends on labview version and device?

I am trying to replace the traditional DAQ with DAQmx for labview 7.1. For testing, I try it on the computer with only 6023E card installed, but when I try to reset the device so the DAQmx could be used, it is said that DAQmx doesn't support that device, so it means not all device support DAQmx? The driver is not just software but also hardward dependent?

Hi dragondriver

I want to know which DAQmx version you use.
All DAQmx driver do not support all NI device.
You use LabVIEW 7.1,so you can use DAQmx 8.9.
This link shows compatible of LV vs DAQmx.

DAQmx readme says you can use PCI-6023E with DAQmx 8.9 .

Thanks for your information. I don't know the version of the DAQmx but it comes with the installation CD for LV7.1, I will try DAQmx 8.9 tomorrow.
