Inverting a waveform signal

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I have been searching for a VI to solve what seems to be a fairly simple (and common) problem but I can't seem to be able to find any posts on it and I have been spending practically half of yesterday on this.

Basically, I would like to convert the negative polarity wave into positive i.e. to get the absolute amplitude.

Perhaps it's best explained visually:

Inverted waveform

Can someone kindly point me to the right VI which can accomplish the job?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Have a look at the "Absolute Value" block in the numeric functions pallette. It appears to work on the sinewave from the waveform pallette.

Great! I'm surprised I can use numeric functions on a waveform.

Thank you so much for your help 🙂
