Internal Error 2727. NETSCAPEPLUGINSDIR

When I start Labview, labview runtime engine tries to install and gives me the above error. Even when I try to install labview runtime engine 6.1 on its own I get the same error and it says it failed to install.

What version of Netscape are you using? Netscape 7 had not been released yet when LabVIEW 6.1 came out and we cannot guarantee that it will work because they might change something.

Randy,

We use Internet Explorer 6 now. Netscape has been removed from my machine. Will Labview 6.1 work with Explorer or do I need to reinstall a Netscape.

IE 6 will work just fine. The plugin for Remote Panels should have already been installed into IE when the Run-time Engine was installed. If not, the do a repair installation on the engine from Add/Remove Programs and that should fix the issue.

I tried the repair and a fresh install, but I get the same message during the installation and then it fails to complete the installation. Is there a way to install the Explorer plugin manually and remove the link to the Netscape plugin.
