Installer 2009 files to C drive

Solved!
Go to solution

I am build an application (EXE) using LabVIEW 2009. Afterwards I create an installer which is done successfully. The question that I have is:

In LabVIEW 7.1 I was able to add within the installer an action to install files (INI) within a specified folder, for example, copy files to C:\Parts\. With LabVIEW 2009, I see that there is no option for that.

If I missed this can anyone show me how or point to a solution?

ThanksNAdvance!!!

When you create your Exe builder you can include these seperate files.

There is standard a support folder called  'data' but you can add other folders as well.

If you want to have a seperate location for the files (not relative to the executable), you need to create a source distribution with those files and add that source distribution to the installer.

You need to do two things:

1. Make sure your support files are added to your LabVIEW Project

2. You can choose to include these files in your installer to specific locations using the installer's Source Files section:

Note: "Windows Volume" will normally be C, but has the advantage of adapting to the odd-ball cases where the boot hard drive is not C (I didn't think this was possible before I came across a support inquiry from one of my customers saying that my app wouldnt work)

Thanks! It works, what sucks is that I cannot add empty folders to that location...
