Hi,
I've been trying to install labVIEW 2010 on my laptop for the last few weeks.
I had previously installed labview 2009 with no issues and wanted to upgrade to 2010.
I started by uninstalling the old version of labVIEW and attempting to install labVIEW 2010. I since been unable to install labVIEW. I tried msi blasting the PC and uninstalling the dot net framework but to no avail.
When the machine attempt to install the first errror is displayed. If I click ok the second errors appears.
Anyone got any ideas?
thanks,
Sean

Hi Sean,
Could you tell me know where abouts you are installing LabVIEW from?
If from a disk, perhaps you could try downloading it from online at www.ni.com/downloads
Please let me know how you get on.

Hi Liam,
Thanks for the suggestion. I was indeed installing from a disk.
I downloaded LabVIEW 2010 and tried to install it from the downloaded file. I received the same error.
When it gets to "publishing product information" it stops and then rolls back all the installation as before.
I'm trying to get it installed on the PC, (Laptop) so I can get a bit of work done over the Christmas. All suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
Sean

Hi again Sean,
It appears the error may be due to your laptop security as the following link should help explain.

This also contains a solution and several other useful links.
Hope this helps and as always, please don't hesitate to contact us further if this doesn't resolve the issue!

Hi Liam,
Thaks for the speedy response.
I'm afraid I neglected to mention I had completely uninstalled norton anitvirus about a week ago. In addition I had disabled the firewall when doing the install.
I noticed that Windows Defender was on. This is the malware and spyware application. I must have enabled it again.
I turned it off and retried the installation using the downloaded software and got the same error.
I'm all ears if you have any other ideas.
Thanks,
Sean

Hi Sean,
From what I can see, this may be more of a Windows problem than that of LabVIEW. It could possibly be a problem with the .NET framework, which may have become corrupted. The version that you have can be checked at C:/Windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework.
It may be a case that it needs to be re-installed or repaired which I believe can be done from the Microsoft Download Centre.
Hope this helps!
