Inst Assistant cannot parse simple serial string correctly - does it have bugs?

My sensor outputs a serial string at 1 hz like this:

11:03:46, 04-16-2009,  143.42,   10,   20,     57,     -100,   25.63

11:03:47, 04-16-2009,  143.42,   10,   20,     57,     -100,   25.63

11:03:47, 04-16-2009,  143.42,   10,   20,     57,     -100,   25.63

.

.

When configuring the inst assistant to track the serial string parameters, everything seems ok; I can parse the parameter from the string one by one like below:

But when i run the vi, I notice there are two parameter value missing::womansad:

When the labview tech demo the Inst Assistant to me, I also noticed that he seems to have problems tweaking Inst Assistant to accept simple serial strings correctly. He then gave up the Inst Assistant and use registers to parse the serial data (but hell, registers looks much much more complicated than Inst Assistant for a noob like me).

Does the Inst Assistant really have bugs or glitches? Or did I miss something to tweak in the Inst Assistant? Is there a quick and clean way to fix this problem?

Advance thanks.
