Input File Parsing and Display

Hi All, i have few doubts,

1. I created a GUI for an application and build it as exe. But during ruuning it, when i click on the framed color box a color box showing to change the color.How shall i lock the Framed Color Box so that its not possible to change the color while running?.

2. Its required to read a script file (text file) and display it in a table after parsing it according to different fields. How shall i do that?

First of all do not use all bold words since its annoying.

1)You can right click and create property node for this color box and disable the same. there are options like enable, disable and disable and grayed out. choose the appropriate based on the siutuation

2) Use the file IO palleted for openin, reading and closing a file. Once you have the read data process them accordingly and populate them to a table. Remeber that a table takes 2D array of data so makes sure that the data you pass is 2 Dimensional. or else you wiull end up with a broken wire

I Could able to solve the issue 1 with help of your inputs.

But i need some more clarifications in the second issue, for the same i am attaching a Sample VI Window Image.

I need to do

1. Open this window when i press a button in another Window (VI).

2. Input a text file in a specified format using"LOAD" button, and display the parsed form in the table.

Anybody Please Comment on this.

opening the front panel of a vi on a button click in another vi can be performed in multiple ways like static call or dynamic call

i assume that your code is having a static call and based on this you have to make these changes to the vi whose front panel to be shown

1) hit CTRL+I to launch the VI properties  window and use the window appearence from the drop don ring

2) There is button to customize the settings hit it. Now a pop up will launch and make these changes as shown in the attached diagram marked in RED box

3) save the vi and click the button. I hope this helps

I think, you didnt understand my query correctly.

Let me share some more information on this,

I have a GUI (VI) with a Square Button, when pressing the button i need to open another GUI.

Also into a 3x10 table, i have to fill the information (for example from an array).
