Initialization of the DAQ-Assistant failed

When I place the DAQ-Assistant Express-VI on the blockdiagram the initialization process starts but never ends.
I never used it before. What could be wrong ?

Dear Thomas W.
Thank you for choosing National Instruments!

The DAQ Assistant may take some time depending on how much of hardware you have installed in your computer and on the specifications of your computer. If you have a slower computer, you will need to wait awhile as well. If it still does not load, you may need to uninstall and reinstall NI-DAQ 7.x. Also, if you are doing so, I recommend that you upgrade to the latest version of NI-DAQ which is 7.3.

For a tutorial on DAQ Assistant, go here. Hope this information helps you in your endeavor.

Thanks and Regards

Dear SShekhar,

thanks for your answer. But unfortunately your suggestions didn´t cause an improvement.

I did reinstall the NI-DAQ driver. Now it´s the 7.3.1.

Then i started the DAQ-Assistant and just now he is initializing for 15 minutes and is still in progress.

My Computer have an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ and is rather fast than slow. (By the way he computes a SETI@Home Workunit in 3h15m... http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/)

Any other ideas ?

Thank you again for your answer.

DAQ-Assistant now works !

I deinstalled my LabView 7.0 Development-System and the LV 7.0 RuntimeEngine. This forced a Deinstallation of the NI-DAQ driver as well. After that i reinstalled the NI-DAQ driver again. Now the DAQ-Assistant runs well with the LabView 7.1 Development-System.

Thanks for the help
