IMAQ AVI

I am trying to create my own avi using IMAQ AVI Create. My question is is it normal for it to take severval seconds for it to return the Filter Names? It usually takes about a minute or so to get an array of filters.

Hello Marcus.
I have never observed that lazy behaviour.
On my computer "IMAQ AVI Filter Names" takes 0.25 seconds to report 10 filters.
Can you post your filters, please?

Those are the same filters that i am comming up with. I tested it on a new laptop we just purchased and i get about the same time that you got. My development computer takes around 2.5 secs. Do you know what could be causing the delay.

Thanks

No, I am simply a codec user. I have never seen any piece of code that goes through the list of installed codecs.
Hopefully someone else knows more, Guenter

Marcus,

The IMAQ Avi Filter Names VI simply makes a DLL call to retrieve the filter names it displays.  The performance of this VI, just like any other, will be dependent upon the number of concurrent processes running on your machine, and the amount of memory in use.  You may have an older version of Vision installed on your development machine, which could also be a contributing factor.
