I'm planning to use CDAQ 9185 with NI 9230,Can the above mentioned sensor 4513-b be read by NI9230, if yes can I get 10000samples/sec from each channel?

Hi Rana,

why don't you read the specsheet of your NI9230 module?

It says just in the header lines:

NI 9230: 3 AI, ±30 V, 24 Bit, 12.8 kS/s/ch Simultaneous

So yes, you can read 10.24kS/s/channel for 3 channels.

I haven't used IEPE modules so far, but it seems it allows to supply 4mA excitation current…

Best regards,
GerdW

I just wanted to know if there are any other parameters to be verified for signal, will the sensors output range meet with the module

for example: voltage modules range from +/- 10V which matches with most sensors

Hi Rana,

do you have any background in electrical measurements?

Ever heard of IEPE/ICP sensors before? (Go to Wikipedia…)

Your sensor most likely is a IEPE/ICP sensor with its DC-biased output and the current supply. The NI9230 is made for IEPE/ICP sensors…

for example: voltage modules range from +/- 10V which matches with most sensors

Again: Did you read the specsheet of your module? It also mentions the allowed input voltages…

Best regards,
GerdW
