I installed LabVIEW 5.1 on an XP machine and some of the VI's, such as fit to curve, do not have icons. Instead, they have a ? where the icon should be, and they cannot be inserted into my VI's. Can anyone fix this?

Actually, it worked! Apparently running it in compatability mode does more harm than good. It gets rid of the "Wrong OS" message but causes errors during the install. I uninstalled several times, and my LAST try before giving up I took it out of compatability mode for Windows 95 and it said "Wrong OS" but the rest of the install worked fine. Thank you for your time, and the suggestions!

This answer may be a little late in coming but it might be helpful in the future. The following is what I did to fix the problem on my computer.

Check the permission on all files in the \menu and \vi.lib directory. A quick and easy way to do this is to go into Windows Explorer, right mouse click on one of these directory folders and select 'Properties'. When the window appears, select the 'Security' tab. Ensure everyone has access to the files. Click the 'Advanced' button and check the 'Replace permission entries on all child objects'. Hope this helps.
