Hung up on "Installing LabVIEW Database Connectivity Toolkit (64-bit)

Hello,

I have been trying to install LabVIEW 2020 64-bit, and it keeps getting hung up on the step "Installing LabVIEW Database Connectivity Toolkit (64-bit)". I have nine nearly identical machines, and I get the same issue on all nine. I have tried installing 64-bit :LabVIEW twice now, and the same issue occurs.

I also have LabVIEW 2020 32-bit installed on these machines, and they work fine.

If you are not working with really big data structures that require 64-bit memory, why not stick with 32-bit LabVIEW (which, by your own admission, works fine)?  Particularly since this problem is reproducible among all your LabVIEW 64-bit installations ...

I am a technician at a University in which one of the professors insists on having the 64-bit version of LabVIEW on the machines in his lab. I don't have a choice in the matter.

Does said professor understand that LV 64-bit doesn't have the same level of toolkit support as LV 32-bit, and comes with some oddball bugs not present in LV 32-bit?

NI recommends installing LV 32-bit unless data that you are expecting are larger than what a 32-bit application will allow.

Yes he is aware. A particular application in which convolutions are performed on large chunks of data from a high speed DAQ is a particular reason in why insists on the 64-bit version of LabVIEW.

This isn't an answer, but the LabVIEW 2020 Database Connectivity Toolkit Readme describes the LabVIEW Database Connectivity Toolkit, which added support for LV 64-bit for toolkit version 2020.

So, hmmm...

I can confirm this issue as well. Is there a workaround?

It looks like despite getting hung up during the installation process, LabVIEW 2020 64-bit did install. I haven't tested it exhaustively, but I was able to make a simple VI.

hi itoma ,

Did find any solution for this issue?

I tried with lv2020sp1_64 installer still facing  the same issue. Tried with db toolkit (64bit) as well but issue remains. In my case also 2020sp1_64 installed successfully but fails at Db toolkit step.

Thanks
