How to uninstall corrupted NI Measurement & Automation Explorer?

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

I have problem to install LabView 2012 and all components, cos I didn't uninstall my previous version (2012) properly.

I have LabView_Fall_2012 and NI_Device_Drivers_August2012 and Win7 x64. (try to install it on non OS partition).

Now when I try to install new I get "NI Measurement & Automation Explorer 5.3 (higher version already installed)" and installation ends there.

My aim is to install everything if possible than uninstall it properly and then install it again. Now I manage to remove most of the files, reg entries and stop services but some things are still left.

What have I to do to make installation to processed?

Its possible to remove all files/reg manually?

There is one file which cannot be deleted "C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Shared\mDNS Responder\nimdnsNSP.dll", its possible to remove it?

Thanks a lot for your help

IMHO there are two options:

1. Try to install MAX 5.4 again, download here

2. The DLL ist used by the Update Tool from LV. You can delete it using this tool: Unlocker

Thank you so much for quick reply.

It worked.

I didnt know it was this simple.

With unlocker I have some issues because of my antivirus system but after uninstalation it could be deleted normaly.
