How to simulate a transfer function without having simulation module?

Hi all... i am doing my undergraduate project in process control.. i was trying to implement a pid controller tuning using genetic algorithm.. problem is .. i am a newbie and dont know how to simulate an actual process in labview.. i could only get info about the simulation module.. but it's not available at our college lab.. so.. can anyone please help me out .. how do i simulate a system if i know the transfer function H(S) without simulation module ?

Hi , We aplologise for the late reply . Without a control design and simulation module also you can use transfer function with DFD Build Filter from Transfer Function VI and others . This allows you to simulate without control design an simulation module . We have a set of functions available under digital filter desing > utilities to do the same .(please refer the image attached ) . We are also enclosing two example VI s which shows the same for your reference. PS: Transfer Function in Control and Desgin Simluation Module uses Laplace transform S and are continous. Filters gives us a Discrete design Please feel free to post your any NI related query in further also . We assure you to give you a quick and accurate reply in future . Sir.. i am grateful for ur reply.. i looked at ur suggestions and tried implementing them.. one big prob (or maybe a silly oneSmiley Happy).. our college lab is having labview 7express.. so i couldnot open the examples u send..Smiley Sad.. is there anyway to look at it?.. sorry i didnt mention the version initially.. also.. i couldn't find the exact vi u were talking abt ..though i got a similar one from filter design functions...

some more doubts i have ...

1)  how exactly can i implement a differential equation (time domain, continous) ?.. can i use the formula node or timedomainmath vi??

2) what exactly are the limits for integration and differentiation for the timedomainmath vi?

3) someplace where i could find good examples of PID implementation from the basic vis in labview..

eagerly waiting for ur reply
