How to restrict the string indicator

hi... In my program i want to lock the string indicator, i.e when the button is OFF(condition is false) then we can not able to change the string value means i want to lock the current value. If i use property node with text.lock, getting an error... Please tell me the solution

Use property Disabled. Value 0 is enabled, 1 is disabled and 2 is disabled and grayed out.
