This sounds like one of the easier versions of Controls on the Fly where all we have to do is create what appears to be anew indiciator. Those can be implemented using a picture control to display the objects and an off-screen control that you 1) Update with new value 2) Get its image 3) Insert into the picture control at the proper location and if you have mulitples to render, reepeat steps 1-3 for each virtual indicator.
The only gotcha that may get in the way is that LV used to have a problem with the back-ground color and I believe Yair has found this has reappeared in recent versions.
