How to pass data.

Thanks for the reply ^_^
I've been working w labview for a month or so :D.
I know about the question mark icon, and I dont have that problem. Everything seems to be working properly. It could be the reference. Although I re-did the entire thing 6 times and still nothing. I'm prolly mising something.
I could move the files to the place they used to be, but i have NO idea what my coworker did.
The thing that bugs me the most is that I did the same step on a test Mainvi and a test subvi, to see if my steps were correct. And it worked just fine. It just doesnt want to work on my original project 😞
Thanks for the help though!:)
Thanks!

Attach your vi's here and we can take a look at them.

Well, is a huge project. So, I copy paste part of the code into a new file (just the part im having trouble with) and it worked properly lol. So I decided to post a SS of what I actually have in my Subvi and in my Main.

For some reason, only in my project I get the msg " Not a RefNum". I checked everything, I ran out of ideas :(, or I need more coffe 😄

Note: The information works just fine in the subvi, but it just doesn't update in the main. Says "Not a refnum", But the ctl refnum is conected properly in the Front Panel

PD:All I can think of is that the files were moved around. but everything is re-linked properly and I re-did it after files were moved.

PD2:I also thought that maybe Subvi and Mainvi has to be in the same directory. but I tested that and I doesnt NEED to 😞

PD3: coffe!!!

Thanks! ^_^

In main, at the refnum input to the subvi, I see a red coersion dot.  This tells me that the refnum expected by the subvi is not the same type as the refnum you are passing in.  Are you sure you are passing in a control refnum, and that the subvi input is a control refnum?  Get rid of the coersion dot and you will probably solve your problem.  I'm just guessing at this point.  I don't see anything else wrong.  Maybe someone else has a clue?

I was just going to post the same thing about the coercion dot. There's another one in the subVI where the cluster is being written though because of the color of the cluster indicator, it's a bit hard to see.

Andrea,

Instead of giving a link to your VI, you can just attach it to your post. Click the Browse button below the message body. And, can you use the more common zip compression format?

I was just wondering, besides the red dot problem, it seems to work just fine in my mini example but not in my project. Probably the red dots are affecting the process but I'm not sure to what point.
Thanks!
