How to measure PLL lock time using LabView?

I have to measure PLL, especially PLL lock time, using LabView.

How can I do it?

Is there is some dedicated LabView Toolkit that can do PLL lock time measurement?

Hi Igor,

you want to measure the time it takes the PLL to lock in to a change in the source frequency?

So you need to measure the frequency and you need to know the state of the PLL. Then you can calculate the time the PLL needs to work.

Lets assume I download wavefor file from scope in CSV format. I need VIs to post-process it and to calculate time from arming PLL and locking on desired frequency. It requires some calculations and I wondered if it was already done in some toolkit or by someone.

I don't think there is a ready-to-use solution.

But as said before it doesn't sound that hard to program…

when you do that for your company you should simply call your local NI sales representative.

They can answer all your question and even provide help by bringing you in contact with an NI AE!
