How to control and read three instruments simultaneously

Now I need to use Labview to control two SMU and one multimeter to do a test on device. I use GPIB-PIC connection. Now my problem is how to control this three instruments at the same time when I do sweeping. Like, I do a gate voltage sweep from 0-5V at step of 0.1V. one SMU connects to the gate to control the Vg, meanwhile measure Ig value. the 2nd SMU to control the Vd at a fixed level (e.g. 50V), also meanwhile measure Id. one more multimeter connect to the substrate to measure Isub. How can I trigger the 3 intruments simultaneously. especially, when I do the sweeping for Vg, how can I make sure the Id and Isub measurement is taken at the same time as Ig at a certain Vg values (like 1.1; 1.2; ....)

Thanks so much~~

I found seems I can use a triger cable to trigger the multimeter to do the measurement after each V increasment step during the sweep when I do the program for SMU. But we don't have the cable now. Is it possible dont use the SMU send a immediate trigger to the multimeter through the trigger link during sweep. Can I just do a triger in the labview program for the multimeter?

Hi nirvana,

You may want to research how (if) these instruments support the GPIB 'GET' command - Group Execute Trigger.

Cheers!
