How can I plot Z-axis as a color in Intensity Graph

Hi GerdW,

............"Your data file has an "interesting" format: there are much more z values than x or y? "..........

Yep, I am collecting intensity in each pixel. For example, say 100 x 100 micron scanning, along X-direction I use stepsize 0.5 micron and along Y direction 1.0 micron. The total no. of pixel is therefore 20301 . Ofcourse, my starting point is 0 and end point is 100.

In .vi file you will find three axes (X, Y, C). X and Y are basically connected to Piezo-stage and C is connected to photon-counter. I wan to update this visulaization system. Please read the top most message in this thread to get a better understanding of my problems. Since I am new in this field so I expect you guys will help me to move forward.

Thank you

Debashis

Hi debu,

why do you attach a broken vi? Why don't you provide some default data to work with?

In the attachment you find a non-broken, optimized version of your vi and a first hint on how to present 2D dataSmiley Wink Please provide some default data in the controls.

Did you read the mentioned threads on using intensity graphs to visualize 2D data?

Best regards,
GerdW

Hi GerdW,

The rest of the part of .vi file is quite confidential. We don't want to disclose it. I hope you understand my situation.

Hi Debashis,

the vi was broken because you didn't add any controls! There were just some dangling wires...
Even when you don't want to disclose any code you still should be able to provide some default data in those (once missing) controls Smiley Indifferent Use my changed vi and add data!

What about the intensity graph? Any ideas how to use it? Is it what you want/need?

Hi GerdW,
Thank you very much for providing me the .vi file. Please find the .vi file of my confocal set-up. I connected the .vi file that you posted in this thread with my confocal .vi file.
I did an expt where I scaned over 20 micron by 20 micron (XY) with step size 0.2 micron in each. The problem is that  I was looking for particles which are generally spanned over couple of pixels. We should expect to see them as an elliptocal spot/circle spot. Please  look the .jpg file, it was not showing something like that.
Could you please help me to upgrade this .vi file.

1) I want to change the color along  Z-axis (It starts form  Black to green to red)
2) How can I put a cursur over there (in Intensity Graph) so that when I move  it will show me the X,Y and Z.

Thanks for your anticipation

Hi Debashis,

sorry, still no data in your vi - I can't run it because I don't have your hardware and I miss subvis...

But to answer your questions:
1) Write to the property node "ZScale.MarkerVals[]".
2) Switch on the cursor legend for the intensity graph. Right-click the 1st cursor, set it to "Allow drag" in the attributes. Now you can move the cursor and it will show you the XYZ values in the cursor legend. You can also read out those values using a property node...

See attachment...

GerdW

Hi GerdW,

Thanks a lot. Could you please let me know how can I put a Counter for both the counters(cy3 and cy5).  I want to see the read out of intensity in front panel for each pixel during scanning.  how can I put a counter over there.

Thank you

Hi GerdW,
Could you please put the indicator over there. I know I need to put it over there. But I am not getting the proper connectivity, I mean I wasn't able to place the indicator.

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi Debashis,

"But I am not getting the proper connectivity, I mean I wasn't able to place the indicator." ???

Right-click the wire, select Create->Indicator... You will always get "proper connectivity"!

I also cleaned up your vi a little bit. Made a subvi from those two identical DAQ routines. Removed frames from the sequences. Replaced "concat string" by "format into string"...
Best regards,
GerdW
