Hi,

I am searching for a way to export a labview front panel directly to a digital movie format such as AVI, MPEG, etc. I would also like to export the image portion of the display only (16bit synthesized array) into the same format.

I am currently going through the frame grabber route and the image quality loss is unacceptable.

Thanks,

Hi,

I attach a vi that takes the front panel image and saves it in a JPEG file.
You can set the portion of your front panel image to save on disk.
I did not connect a vi reference, in this way it acts on the actual vi, but this can obviously changed.
In my example I used 8-bit pixel depth, you can easily change it to 24, remember in this case to connect the proper terminals on the functions.

Good luck,
Alberto

Alberto,

I'm unable to load the vi. I get a load error code of "8" "unable to load vi resource.

Do you have Microsoft Camcorder? (It's available in the Office97 Value Pack.) It will make a movie of whatever you have on your screen...mouse movements, etc. It's usually made for instructional videos, etc. You might give it a try.
