Hi all, I really need help

I am doing a research using matlab and labview. I have a performance
problem with matlab6.5R13 on the dual core. My advisor just gave me a
computer with Intel(R) Pentium(R)D CPU 2.66GHz 2.66GHz, 512 RAM.
running on Windows XP Professional version 2002 Service Pack2. I have
Labview and Matlab installed already. Labview and others are working
fine but Matlab. I just notice the performance on the windows task
manager, While Windows is starting up, CPU usage is 100% and the
system(Processes) is running all of my programs even matlab.exe
(30-50%cpu). After everything is done (matlab still using 50% CPU), I
start Matlab application, it said one more matlab.exe task by Admin and
the CPU usage is 100%. After the initializing stage, the cpu usage
still hangs on 100%. Oh my god. I didn't even open any mat file or any
program. Everything got slow on 100% cpu. It likes I am using pentium
MMX 100 Mhz. I try to surf from any website and webboard. Nothing can
help me out. Any help , It would be greatly appreciated.

Try to disable Matlab server in your service list.
