HELP

[Severine Pallec - desscci]

I want to make an application for an interface IEEE-488 between a PC and
a Keithley 2001 multimeter in order to send data to and from the
instruments.
I just want to know what is the best language, sofware packages and if
someone can give me some informations about this work.

Hi Severine,

I'm doing something similar I think, and I'm using LABVIEW, and my communication
is by Serial Port (RS-232). If you have the LABVIEW you will see useful tools
to run down the Serial Port. But depends on your multimeter, because perhaps
it will easier if you use GPIB, but it will depend on your multimeter. First
of all, you have to read the manual of the multimeter and go to the Remote
Con
trol Cap.,it's the only way to guess the best way to reach your objective.
