Getting LabVIEW to interface with a leak detector

Hi,

I am fairly new using LabVIEW so I could use a little help.

I am trying to interface the Agilent Helium Leak Detector (https://www.agilent.com/cs/library/usermanuals/public/G8610-90002A_Agilent_Technologies_Helium_Leak_...

to a PC and get LabVIEW to recognize the connected hardware but I am having some trouble doing so.

Is there any way I could do this?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Henry,

what have you tried after reading page 139ff ?

What is the problem? Can't you connect to the serial port?

Do you know the meaning of those <CR> and <LF> notes?

Best regards,
GerdW

Oop, sorry if I didn't make any sense.

I needed help being able to use LabVIEW to get strings from the leak detector, and I was having trouble doing so.

Thank you!

What GerdW is, gently, trying to get you to do is provide any fragment of relevant information.  So allow me to be more blunt.   The manual for the tool tells you EXACTLY how to get a third party program to communicate to it (APPENDIX  A).  Have you tried anything from the manual? what is your roadblock??

Have you established ANY serial communication via any software??  Did you even configure the COM port? Have you tried to use LabVIEW to execute a query?  So far you have provided zero information/details regarding the status of your project to allow anyone in the world to even try to help.
