Get product SW version in CAN protocol

Hello,

Does anyone know a method (or a standard command) to get the SW version of a product using the CAN communication protocol?

Specifically, I use NI-XNET and the ECU Measurement and Calibration tools to control my device and my product, and I want to read the SW version implemented in the product with Labview.

Read the documentation of the slave device.

CAN is more like an hardware standard protocol. Every industry will have their own software "Data" protocol.
