Get PC Microphone value

Anyone knows how can I get the sound card microphone value using LV 7.1 and WIN XP?
It's simple to set microphone level but I can't find the function that GET the microphone level, for istance to verify if the calibrated value of microcphone is already valid after a PC shut up.

Yes, the document reference is right and I was already find the way to SET the microphone recording level. What I need is to GET this level to check if calibration I have done is still valid or not. This infos should be included in WINMM.dll files but I don't find the document infos to learn which function allow me to GET the microphone recording level.
