Front panel cursor hand only

On the front panel I only see the hand cursor.  I can place objects but not edit or move them.  On the block diagram I can place objects but not wire or move the objects.  The VI is not running.  I am using LabView 6.1.

I don't remember if version 6 had auto tool select. If not, try pressing the tab control or space bar. I think auto tool select was added in 7.x

You do realize, don't you, that you have to manually select the tool with 6.1? Can you show the Tools palette to select from? Can you click on the tab key to cycle through the tools?
