Front Panel Not Scrollable

Hi Everyone,

I just started writing a program in LabView 8.5.  When I first started, a scroll bar was on the right of window and a scroll bar was on th bottom of the window.  After couple days, those two scroll bars disappeared.  I am not able to scroll up and down the front panel to see the controls and indicators that are on the front panel.  I do not know if this is a Windows problem or LabView.  If I create a new VI, the scroll bars are still there.  Please help me.

Thank you very much and Happy Holidays!!!

I recall someone mentioning the same thing happened to them in 8.5 a little while ago, but I can't find the thread. Perhaps you (or someone else) may have accidentally right-clicked on the scrollbars and selected the "Horizontal Scrollbar->Always Off" option?

To fix it:

Go to File->VI Properties (or right-click on the VI icon in the upper-right of the window and select "VI Properties"). Select the "Window Appearance" category from the menu. Either:
  • Select the "Default" option.
    -OR-
  • Click the "Customize" button. Check the boxes that say "Show vertical scroll bar" and "Show horizontal scroll bar".

Tip: When in Edit mode you can "scroll" the panel by holding down the Control and Shift keys. The cursor will change to a hand, and you can drag the panel around.

You may have turned them off inadvertently.  Try going into the VI Properties (File->VI Properties).  Go to Appearance and click the Customize button.

Make sure the options to show the scrollbar are checked.  This will turn them back on.
