Did you really post a reference to a pointer?

I must admit that I didn't get it until I read your post.

That is too funny! 🤣

While we are way off topic anyhow....

Are you going to name the dog "This"?

We should all open a dialog for even better names for a programmers pointer.

nope.
In order to be better understood by vegan Text based programers, I'm going for "Tofu" - spelled "toFoo". 😉

If you're going to be picky, Paul, that's only the general case! And English is my mother tongue (not American) 😉, so I'm going to allow myself that leeway when tired and when the meaning is very clear. This is not a forum of hitmen or dog salesmen either, so lets leave it at that.

You do get a lot of handy advice tho.

In general, 'finishing someone off' means to kill that person.

(I keep looking for a dog - maybe you've just guided me to the correct breed for a programmer😂)

Jay, that sort of language has no place on this forum surely you should know! 😂

nope, not touchy, happy (amused to read your comment actually), but I can see how it could be read as touchy. The written word doesn't have the same inflection as the spoken one and is always inferior for banter in that respect.😉

Finishing off, pointers, handy....

Do you really want us to Google that for a more appropriate web resource?  I'm assuming a moderator would remove a TMGTFY link.

That was a set up... Pun was intended.

It's getting harder (*sigh*) to type anything that can't be misinterpreted.
