Filtering Noise cDAQ

Dear all

currently we are developing a new test stand measuring forces with load cells. Their singal is given in Volts (5 +-5 V). We are using NI-9201 cards and a cDAQ-9185 chassis. Unfortunatelly, our signals are noisy. Normally the singals should fluctuate between +-2 N (+-0.004 V), but we measure fluctuation between +-40 N (+-0.08 V).

Is there any way to filter the noise internally via LabVIEW or externaly by installing a filter?

Many thanks in advance.

PS: By using Arduino with 16bit ADC converter (ADS1115), we are having a filtered signal without spikes.

What you describe sounds like a shielding/grounding problem.  It is often a lot easier (and more effective) to eliminate noise by proper wiring than to try to filter out noise "after the fact".

According to the data sheet here, https://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/373783a_02.pdf

the 9201 is +/-10V and 12bits, the resolution is approximately 0.004, probably not going to work for you.
