File History List Geting Started

Hi community,

In the getting started window there is a list of the recently opened
file which is a kind of history of what you have done and so far all the
files stay there, especially the wrong versions ;-(
How can I delete the list?

Thanks for any hints!

There is a key in your LabVIEW.ini file called RecentFiles.pathList. If you delete it and restart LabVIEW, the list will be cleared, but I'm not sure why you would want to.
Which "wrong versions" are you talking about? If you don't want to open the wrong versions, just don't open the files from that list.

Of course I can do it like that. But in principle this is a great
feature that I can open the maybe 3 or 4 files I want to use like that
with one click.
But I would like to delete a few old "links" which stay there for a long
time already and I do not know how to do this.
Do you know how to do this?

Urs

I don't use 8.x, but if I remember correctly, the list holds both projects and VIs. I'm guessing that you're not happy with one of those and I assume it appears either in that INI key or in another. If you only want to delete part of the list, you can go into the INI key and delete just some of the entries.

The ini files has several sections and it is possible to edit it with
i.e. MS Editor. I removed the files I do not want to see. No problems,
but not a really convenient way to do this....

Hi Urs,

when there are "dead links" in the shortcuts you can delete them by clicking them once (LabView will notice they're dead and removes them from the list).
Otherwise edit the LabView.ini as recommended before.
