FieldPoint IAK file problem under Win-XP

I have a strange problem with the IAK file for FieldPoint Explorer

under Win-XP.

After burning the file to a CD and copying back on a HD.

the FieldPoint Explorer refuse to open that file under Win-XP.

No error messages, it just doesn't open it.

I have never experienced this under another OS.

I see this same problem on several different computers.

At first I thought there could be a problem with the file attribute,

but is seems XP automatically sets it back to Archive when copying from CD.

So then I'm blank, what can this be ?

I have the most recent version of FieldPoint Explorer, of course.

I just tried to duplicate your problem, but had no problems. The read-only attrib was cleared when it was copied to hard disk - as you said. Attached is the file I've tried. See if you can load it.

Post the file you're having trouble with. I'll see if I have the same issues.

Martin,

The CD may not have been closed properly. If that is the case, other computers may see the files on the CD, but may not read the correct data when pulling the files from the CD. Try burning another CD, and make sure the CD is closed at the end of the session. A friend of mine ran into this problem with his XP machine (although not specifically with FieldPoint IAK files).
