Fatal Error. Unhandled MSI error

Dear All,

I've recently developped a large Labview vi in Labview 6. My company has recently bought Labview 8 with the application builder. I'm trying to use Labview 8 to built a stand alone application of my Labview 6 vi. For this, I've created an executable of my vi as well as an installer. The computer with Labview 8, runs Windows XP.

I then copied the files and folders that were created onto a computer running Windows 2000 and tried to run the previously created setup program. Shortly after the installer initialised a error message appeared, saying "Fatal Error. Unhandled MSI error".

How can I possibly solve this problem? What is it related to?

Hi Alan,

The first thing to check is that the installer builder for LabVIEW 8.x defines the OS that the installer will work on, There is an option to set this for XP only - so could it be that this has been checked? It will be on the 'Advanced' [age of the installer builder.

Other than that - do you have some more information about the error - a screen shot for example or an error number?
