FPGA setpoint value range

Hello guys

i have created a PI control on my fpga.

Is there any labview command to translate this single setpoint into a value range?

i am working on a project using NI cRIO-9035 and Labview 2018

Thank you for your help

Hi Alper,

your question sounded different in the German LabVIEWForum…

How do you want to extend a setpoint to a setpoint range?

Or are you talking about a deadband behaviour?

Best regards,
GerdW

Hello GerdW

i want to replace the setpoint of my PI-control with a value range.

is this even possible at all?

Nope.

Doesn't make sense IMHO.

And how would you propose to do that mathematically?  The way things work is you choose a set point and then you tune your PID control to the accuracy, ramp rate, and overshoot specifications of your system.

Hi crossrulz,

that's what you got for crossposts: I already proposed a solution to Alper problem in the German board.

And yes, it's nonsense to have a "setpoint range".

Alper simply wants to disable the PID control instead, when the pv is outside a certain range…
