Error: Terminal cannot appear multiple times within a single digital input or output task

Hello!

I am attempting to use the NI PXIe 6545 Digital I/O with LabVIEW NXG 5.1.0, but I have encountered an error when trying the Dynamic Generation with Scripting example. I have attached a photo of the error and the example diagram from LabVIEW NXG 5.1.0.

I could not seem to find much information online for this particular error. I did find a solution for the DAQmx Create Channel VI at this website: https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA00Z0000019SMRSA2&l=en-US

However, I am not sure how to apply this to my situation. I am not well-versed in LabVIEW or using NI products, so any help would be great!

My guess is that the error is coming from the case with the two HSDIO blocks as they both have an input called waveform name.  LabVIEW does not like duplicate label names.  Try changing them to include suffix 1 for the bottom (waveform name1) and 2 for the top (waveform name2).

LabVIEW NXG has been discontinued and abandoned.  I recommend changing away from it before spending any more time on a dead product.

The label of a control is rather uninteresting for your error…

The more important part is the content of those controls: do you have any channels duplicated in your tasks???

(Did you know we cannot edit/debug/run images with LabVIEW?)

And yes: try to get away from LabVIEW-NXG as it is end-of-life for some years now!

When you read the specs of your device then you would notice this sentence:

NI Measurement Automation Explorer

NI Measurement Automation Explorer (MAX) provides interactive configuration and test tools for the PXIe-6545. MAX is included on the NI-HSDIO media.

Is this ok for you?
