Then I would say you have a problem with the installation. Could have been caused by installing one version, then another, then an earlier one. Try uninstalling and perhaps do a search for the msiblast utility to do a real clean up.

Executive decision that we are not currently prepared to run a full uninstal/install at the moment. Not to mention, I attempted to run the VIs after I installed the first Trad-DAQ and it wouldn't run then either, so it seems that the  multiple iterations of different DAQs couldn't be the issue.

Is there anything else that can be done that doesn't involve an entire uninstall/reinstall process?

I tried to run the VI directly after having installed Traditional DAQ 7.4.1, and it didn't work. I then went ahead and installed 7.4.4 in addition, and 7.1 thereafter. I tried running the VI in between each install, and it wouldn't work.

The error, again, is

Error loading "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabView 2009\vi.lib\Daq\lvdaq.dll".

A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed.

And I have the Traditional DAQ set up correctly. What else is there that I can do?

Well, if you cannot use MAX then I don't think it is set up correctly and in any case, you'll have to change back to 7.4.4 in order to use LabVIEW 2009. I do not think your uninstall/reinstall process includes LabVIEW. Once you can use the card in MAX, then LabVIEW should work.

So I should theoretically be able to uninstall only the legacy DAQs I installed? Is that specifically by using msiblast, or can I do it manually somehow?

I apologize for my ineptitude in this case, I'm not used to running partial uninstalls with component files, and I was under the impression that uninstalls are all encompassing.

Nevermind! I got it. I'll update when the process has concluded.

In theory, just running the normal windows uninstall for traditional DAQ should work. However, if that still does not work, you may have to resort to msiblast.

Thanks. I just didn't realize that Add/Remove programs would let me target specific subprograms within LabView.

Well, we tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and it didn't help. Same error.

Not really sure where to go from here. We might have to drop back to version 8, or we might give a call in to Tech support.
