Enter always ends text type - but I want those linebreaks!

Solved!

Hello everyone. I have been lurking here the past half year - as long as I have been programming in Labview, and now it is time to make my first post.

The issue is a minor one (but annoying!), and probably a quick fix : I am unable to add line breaks to text-entry's by using the enter button. Pressing enter always ends the typing. I.e: I can't make a comment in the BD with line breaks!  I can still resize it, and it will behave as expected, but resizing does not, in many cases, break the lines the way I want it.

So as the above example shows I have to constantly switch between the KB and mouse to make a list.

Changing the "End text entry with Enter key" checkbox in Tools -> Options -> Environment has no effect - even after restarts, so I am out of ideas, but hopefully someone on this forum have had the same issue and solved it.

I am using LV 8.6.1 on Vista.

Which "Enter" are you using (there are two on the keyboard)?

For me "Main Enter" always act as start new line, while Enter on the Numeric Keyboard works as you have described (Win XP)

The numbad enter acts the same way as my main enter.

But you put sent me in the right direction: If I disable the numpad - then my "main" enter start producing linebreaks. Smiley SurprisedSmiley Happy
