DynaPanels: Now we can place controls dynamically

Dynapanels is a technology which allows
placing controls or indicators in a vi front panel. This technology
does not use any VI Scripting and hence it is perfectly safe to use it
in executable or commercial application.

  • Controls are created dynamically
  • Control can be binded to any variable published withing your program
  • No memory consumption if control is not created for any perticular variable.
  • Very useful for allowing end user to create their own report formats.
  • Macro recording can be added for storing control placements. or even raising actions in a perticular sequence.
  • Custom dynamic controls can be created in minutes by using template.
  • No VI Scripting is used.
  • Can be used to create toolbars (toolbars can be extended through plug ins as well)
  • Dynamic controls can handle any event of standard control
  • Can subscribe to more than one variable
  • Can preprocess data before display.
  • Uses Publisher Scubscriber Architecture

you can also download the demo application built with LabVIEW 8.2 at http://www.jambhekar.com/index.php/labview-articles/dynapanels.html

I understand that the demo shows very basic proof of concept. But please do give feedback about what additional features will make this even better.

and if you really like this dont forget to give kudos 🙂

WARNING: Do NOT try to download the demo from the above linked web page. The server is compromised and you get redirected to a fake scareware link!!!!

edit: Seems the link is now offline. Apparently somebody is trying to fix things... 🙂

Update by Support: Because the download issue is resolved, I have reduced the emphasis of the warning.

Thanks! Good luck finding the problem.

Here's part of my IE history (bottom is oldest).

As soon as I tried to download the zip, I got redirected to a fake AV scan site (very similar to the image here), showing an animated gif mimicking an AV scanner and trying to entice me to download something. My computer seems clean, so I don't think is is a local problem.

The redirect link (truncated for safety) was: mycomputertotalscann11.com/scan1/?pid=180s1&engine=p3...(long random tail)....

If you want, you can post the zip here until things are sorted out.

Hi Altenbach.

1. i am using CMS on my website.

2. as precaution i just rechecked the zip file i have uploaded with latest updated antivirus. but didnt found anything.

3. i reuploaded it and checked if it is really redirecting to any site.

4. in my firefox i could see it is connecting to "Read i.ytimg.com"

5. i further googled i.ytimg.com and came to know that this appears due to fact that i have embedded youtube video in my site. and i.ytimg.com is releted to youtube.

6. i checked if while downloading the zip file is it redirecting to any other site but couldnt find anthing.

can you please let me know in a bit detail what was your observation. so that i can ask my web host to see things further. your "Server is Compromised" statement is alarming to me.

Sorry, we must have replied at the same time. 😉

Above are a few more details.

As I said, I usually don't see these kinds of things so I strongly suspect there was something wrong with your sever. Please recreate the download link and I try again for testing.

thanks.

i think there was a problem definately .  i found one oddly named(Similar to md5 string) file in my downloads folder(which i deleted and made my permissions strict).  i will definately ask my host to check up with this redirection issue and what steps i can take to avoid this. thank you very much for your support.

and now the main thing. please let me know your feedback about the example
