In case you cannot find a site, you can request a free CD on NI site(http://www.ni.com/labview/lv_dl.htm).
Also, you can find it on some other CDs from NI (like Instrupedia, NI488 driver, etc.) ... maybe some of your friends have one of those.

Scar,

We cannot put a downloadable version on the web of the evaluation version because is almost like 240 MB of size... so that's why it is only distributed by CD. The comment from Lab Viewer is right, this demo is also shipped with other NI CD's so may want to search for it. If not then ask for one of the CD's it doesn't takes to much to receive one just order it from this link: LabVIEW 6 Evaluation Version Order Page

Good luck!... and thanks to Lab Viewer for his answer.

This isn't a convincing problem- by that argument it would be unfeasible for
someone to download a Linux distribution, yet it happens regularly.

If you (quite reasonab
ly) don't want your machines and site bandwidth
hammered, why not make the evaluation version available on one of the large
download sites such as tucows which has multiple mirrors across the world?
This is how the Linux distributions are made feasible, and Linux
distributions are probably updated more frequently than the demo so there
doesn't seem to be the issue of outdated versions floating around.

I'd have thought that increasing the availability of the evaluation version
would increase the visibility of Labview, and hence its use and NI's
profitability! From my own experience, if I have to fill in a form and wait
for a CD then I'm much less likely to look at something I'm unfamiliar with
than if I can simply download it, install it and take a quick look while
it's on my mind.

Craig,
I understand thoroughly your point, I don't make the rules but I can pass your suggestion to the persons who decide this, I certainly believe that making it by this way we can keep track of our potential customers and you can have a more eficient control on crackers of the software. Also by using the Evaluation version you agree to use it about 30 days I believe, I don't have that number in my head right now so after that we can try to contact this persons and see if they like or not, why, do they need the complete version, so they need support in their application..etc, but anyway, I'll pass your suggestion and see what is the answer for that.

Thanks for your comment...
