Digital Out voltage range controled using software

I am trying to see if we can programatically control the voltage level of the Digital Out. I am using a M Series PXI 6281 board. The specs gives 0-5V output range.
I am trying to see if we can put out exactly a particular Voltage Level required

for example 1.5Volts Digital out

Hi sunswam,

I believe that most of NI's cards have 5V/TTL for DIO. Perhaps this is a bit simplistic, but why can't you use your analog out to generate your desired voltage? Apart from this, I think you will need to use an external converter or look at 655x range of DIO cards. Im not very familiar with hardware but I think these cards allow you to program your digital voltage levels.

Hello Swam. Thank you for contacting National Instruments. The digital outputs on the PXI 6281 use TTL logic, so it can only output 0V and 5V. We do have some Digital Waveform Generators (PXI 6541/6542) that allow 1.8, 2.5, and 3.3 volts.

If you have not used up all of your analog outputs, I recommend doing a DC voltage. If you have used up all of your outputs, we have the PXI 6704, which has 32 analog outputs. I hope this helps. Have a great day!

Thanks for your information. Our controller accepts TTL between 2 to 10V. NI DAQ boards put out 0 to 5V digital Out so will this be useful or should I go in for the 655x range of DIO cards.
I feel that with the current specs we should not have any problem. since our controller will be ON when there is a 5V from the NI DAQ card and OFF if there is 0V from the NI DAQ card.

Hello Swam. Since your controller accepts a TTL voltage between 2-10 V and our card puts out 5V TTL, there should be no problem. Have a great day!
