Database Example VI's

I am using LabView 7.1, There are some examples on database for some reason I am unable to open them. Could any one tell me why I am unable to open those VI's.

Thank you,
Mudda.

Mudda,

It's probably because the examples use subVIs that are only available on your machine if you have purchased and installed the Database Connectivity Toolkit.

You weren't clear on what messages were given when you were unable to open the example VIs, but assuming you don't have this toolkit, LabVIEW would presumably go through its search path, find nothing, and give you the option to stop or to continue and open the example without the missing subVIs.

There are some alternatives to NI's toolkit out there (search for LabSQL), but you may not find identical functionality, or as much example code as you will find if you use NI's tool.

John,
When I double click on the example VI for the DB, The cursor is busy for a while and nothing is happening after that.

Thanks,

Mudda,

Which example?

In any case, double-clicking on files or shortcuts can make things complicated, especially if you happen to have multiple versions of LabVIEW installed. You should try the traditional approach (File >> Open) after launching LabVIEW and see if you have the same problem or not.
