DataBinding URL- How does target alias get resolved

When you bind a control to a network path that contains an aliased target (from the alias.ini) file does it always get resolved?

Example:  \\targetx\process1\temperature is the url and we will want to have targetx resolved to some particular IP address

defined in the alias.ini file.  There is not very much information on the details of how this resolving mechanism works and

if it is actually taking place in the PSP layer?

Also, how is the alias file generated?  I presume in some cases it will need to be hand edited to provide alias definitions

that maybe outside the build project.

It seems like the answers to a lot of your questions have been answered in another thread of yours here.  I do not know much about the inner workings of how the alias file is created, but if the NSV belongs to a library it seems like this should not be a problem.  If it is, I see no reason why you couldn't include your own alias file in the build.
